PECan is hiring: PhD Student on political economy of climate change

Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin invites applications for a position for a
PhD student (75%) on political economy of climate change (m/f/d).
The successful candidate will join the junior research group PECan, working on the political economy of climate policy and finance at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin (HU-Berlin) and the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK). We conduct research on politico-economic interactions of climate policy-making with the financial system and its regulation. PECan is a transdisciplinary project funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research within the ‘Research for Sustainability’ (FONA) Strategy.
Requirements:
An excellent degree in economics or a related field.
Knowledge of economic research methods (theoretical modelling/game theory and/or econometrics) and in applied microeconomics, environmental economics or political economics.
Proficiency in English.
Interest in economic research on sustainability issues and interdisciplinary research.
A plus would be: Skills in survey methods; Knowledge of institutional economics; Skills in quasi-experimental econometric methods; Knowledge of and interest in climate risks for the financial system, green macroprudential policies, corporate finance theory, program evaluation, sustainable finance, behavioral finance and related topics and fields; Interest to combine quantitative and qualitative methods; Track record as a strong team player; Proficiency in German.

The position has a duration until 30.09.2027. A salary will be paid according to the German University Standards at a 75% level.
